About the Course
Patient Care Technician (PCT) Advanced Program – 1014 hours
This program will be offered on an online platform. Students also have the choice to attend the program in-class. 614 hours of theory will be covered online. However, students will be required to complete 400 hours of hands-on internship at a clinical facility after they have completed the online coursework. Patient Care Technicians work with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in healthcare facilities to provide direct patient care and comfort measures, take vital signs, collect specimens, and much more. This certificate program teaches multiple skills such as venipuncture, electrocardiography, and patient healthcare needs (patient care component), preparing students for broader responsibilities and advancement opportunities. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certifications through the AECA- American Education Certification Association: formerly National Certification Career Association (NCCA) or AMCA (American Medical Certification Association) to be a Certified Patient Care Technician. It is a very fulfilling and rewarding career.
