About the Course
EKG Technician – 120 hours
The program prepares the candidate as an EKG Technician responsible for performing diagnostic tests to access the heart rhythm and rate in patients. EKGs are also performed before and after operations, during physical examinations of patients over 40, for patients with a history of heart disease, when patients are experiencing chest pain and when doctor deems it necessary. The well trained EKG technician is an integral part of the management of patients with heart disease. The EKG technician may also clean equipment, maintain and process data reports. Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certifications through the National Certification Career (NCCA). The certification exam is a two part exam which tests the student on clinical skills and knowledge based multiple choice exam.
